The Afro Caribbean Heritage Society Thames Valley is a non-profit community interest group comprised of Afro-Caribbean leaders dedicated to celebrating and supporting the Afro-Caribbean community in the Thames Valley area. Initially formed to unite the "hidden communities" of Slough and Maidenhead, the society aims to establish hubs throughout the Thames Valley. We achieve this by raising funds through partnerships with individuals, companies, and organizations, then investing these resources in social events, personal history projects, and youth engagement initiatives.

Our mission is to preserve and promote Afro-Caribbean cultural heritage, advance education and awareness, and foster a resilient, informed, and empowered society. We are committed to engaging and supporting our community through initiatives focused on economic empowerment, health and well-being, and advocating for fair representation in the UK.

To achieve our goals, the Afro Caribbean Heritage Society operates through six key workstreams:
Cultural Preservation and Promotion

Preserving and promoting the rich cultural heritage of Afro-Caribbean communities through cultural events, festivals, and workshops.

Education and Awareness
Developing educational programs and resources about Afro-Caribbean history and contributions, raising public awareness through campaigns, media, and publications.
Community Engagement and Support
Establishing community centers for cultural activities and support services, creating programs for youth empowerment and skill development.
Economic Empowerment
Supporting Afro-Caribbean entrepreneurs and small businesses, offering job training and placement services to equip community members with employability skills.
Health and Well-being
Promoting health and well-being through workshops and health fairs, providing mental health resources and support groups.
Advocacy and Representation:
Advocating for policies that support Afro-Caribbean communities and ensuring representation in decision-making processes.
