WELCOME

The Afro Caribbean Heritage Society Thames Valley

We are a charitable organization dedicated to preserving, promoting, and celebrating the rich cultural heritage of Afro Caribbean communities. Our mission is to preserve cultural heritage while advancing education and awareness in and across our evolving communities.

Building Bridges Bridging Future

Cultural Preservation
and Promotion

Afro-Caribbean heritage is a treasure trove of stories, art, and traditions that deserve recognition and celebration. Our primary aim is to preserve and promote this cultural wealth through various initiatives. We organize cultural events, festivals, and workshops annually that showcase traditional music, dance, art, and culinary delights. These activities are designed not only to share our heritage with the wider community but also to instill a sense of pride and belonging within our own. We recognize that culture is a living, breathing aspect of our identity, and through education and celebration, we can ensure its continuity.

Education and

Awareness

Knowledge is a powerful tool, and we acknowledge the importance of education in fostering understanding and appreciation for our history. We develop educational programs aimed at disseminating knowledge about Afro-Caribbean contributions to society, encompassing historical perspectives, key figures, and significant events. Through campaigns, publications, and communal dialogue, we aim to raise awareness and dispel myths, paving the way for a more inclusive future. Our workshops and lectures are designed for all ages, ensuring that each individual can engage with and learn from our rich heritage.

Community Engagement

and Support

Community lies at the heart of everything we do. Focusing on engagement and support, we strive to create safe spaces for Afro-Caribbean individuals and families to gather, share experiences, and uplift one another. We offer cultural activities designed for various age groups, promoting dialogue and understanding across generations. Moreover, we prioritize youth empowerment through skill development programs, mentorship opportunities, and advocacy for their voices in local decision-making processes. We believe that by fostering a strong community, we lay the groundwork for a resilient future.
